    The House and Senate passed Senate Bill 4 which will increase penalties for human traffickers and stash house operators. The bill has been sent to the Governor for signature. Once signed, the Governor will inform us of the day it will go into effect. SB4 will consider human smuggling as a third degree felony that carries a 10-year minimum sentence.   • DACA Update

    Once again, there is a federal court case against the DACA program declaring it is unlawful. As of this month, nothing has changed. Existing DACA recipients are safe; their protection continues. USCIS can still process renewals, work permits, and travel documents. However, new applications are still not being processed. The case is expected to go before the Supreme Court.
