  Some VAWA Applicants will be Required to Have an Interview

  Starting in December 2024, USCIS  will begin requiring interviews for certain individuals applying for VAWA.  Being selected for an interview doesn’t necessarily  mean the case is in trouble. However, the applicant must attend the interview in person. Interviews can be rescheduled if you cannot attend. Missing an interview could result in the denial of your application.

  Applicants should be ready to discuss everything they have submitted to USCIS. There's no need to worry! One of our attorneys can attend the interview with you. This change comes after a rise in VAWA petitions and investigations into fraud. USCIS believes these interviews will improve the program by ensuring applicants meet all eligibility requirements and preventing fraud. They also plan to run a public awareness campaign to address VAWA fraud.
